While we have experience with PHP, Java, Python, and other technologies, we’ve really taken to .NET, and recently .NET Core and its abilities to run cross-platform. Where you once were concerned that you could only run on Windows, now you can run on Mac OS and Linux alike, with the opportunity to work on mobile.
We’ve done several projects in .NET, including:
- Multiple conversion programs to convert data from one format to another, including:
- Documents from the NextGen HED format to RTF
- Millions of RTF documents from a SQL database to code
- HTML in a SQL database to PDFs
- Performance review system for 3,000+ employees from initial conversation to production use in less than three weeks
- Multiple applications to handle form input with complex workflows
Sometimes you need a small map to showcase your location. Other times you need to get locations from a list of addresses. And sometimes you need to map millions of locations based on what seems like random criteria.
We’ve done all of the above. Some examples:
- Invasion of America: Created a map to showcase the location of land boundaries over time for American indigenous peoples. The map has been updated, but you can view an updated version.
- Created an ArcMap extension for mapping hundredth of mile accidents based on state-wide police reports.
- Visualized juvenile arrest data; maps presented to and unveiled by, state government officials.
Honestly, we were kind of thrown into SharePoint. The requirement was that an old, custom-developed portal in ColdFusion needed to be redone (without all of the mess from the old portal) in SharePoint. This was a trial-by-fire, but the end result was well-received.
We developed in SharePoint so far:
- An intranet serving 3,000+ employees
- Change management application for a technology department
- Intake application for help desk tickets
- Staffing models application
- Departmental sites requiring custom development
